Gas Barbecue
Use this Barbecue for the Ultimate Grilling Perfection
There are two general types of barbecue on the market today – the old fashioned charcoal variety and the high
tech, grilled to perfection every time, gas barbecue.
Deciding which type you want can be a long and arduous process, as each barbecue brings
something different to the table.
Do not let the massive array of different models at your local hardware store get the best of you when you are
making your decision, as the whole process can be a little easier with some simple information.
First, the gas barbecue will cost you a lot more money in startup costs than a charcoal barbecue. They are far
more technologically advanced, usually at least twice as big, and made from more expensive materials like aluminum,
separating them greatly from charcoal barbecues. However, in the long term, a gas barbecue will be somewhat cheaper
to run, as you will not have to purchase supplies of charcoal and lighter fluid every other time you barbecue with
your gas grill.
Your average guy purchases a gas barbecue for one of two general reasons. He may enjoy the large amount of
grilling real estate that the barbecue can give. A large barbecue, while expensive, will give you a huge area that
you can use to grill a variety of meats and vegetables all at once.
Second, on some of the most expensive models, you can even have several burners which can aid
you in cooking multiple meals at once. Even heat distribution thanks to those multiple burners is also a huge
plus.
Unfortunately, one major drawback of the gas barbecue is that you cannot have that great, smoky
taste to your meat as you would with a charcoal barbecue that produces much more smoke and generally hotter flames.
While you can flavor your meat with rubs, barbecue sauces and wood chips, it is nearly impossible to obtain the
true charcoal taste with a gas barbecue.
